For an assessment to be made a visit to the property is required - except for new build which is calculated from plans. At that visit our Assessors will need to conduct a full survey of the property and will be recording specific details to input into our unique software used to calculate the energy rating.
The detail required will include:
- The age of the property
- The floor area
- The length of the external heat loss perimeter walls
- The thickness of the walls
- Cavity wall insulation and type
- Roofspace insulation and depth
- Make, model and age of central heating boiler
- Type of central heating boiler and flue
- Method of heat radiation (radiators, under floor etc.)
- Number of Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs)
- Number of fireplaces
- Form of any other secondary heating
- Type of windows
- Type, age and extent of double glazing (if any)
- Number of low energy light fittings
